چکیده

Thermal management has become a promising field in recent years due to the limitation of energy resources and global warming. An important topic improving efficiency thermal utilization is how control flows heat, rectifiers, such as transistor, have been proposed units for modulating flow heat. In this work, reconfigurable non-contact transistor with two-dimensional grating introduced. The consists three parts: source, gate, drain, gate working around phase-transition temperature vanadium dioxide, type material. Results show that unit clear transistor-like behavior. surface phonon/plasmon polaritons supported by insulating/metallic states contribute radiative transport can be modulated at nanoscale separation. And dynamic amplification factor varies from 12.8 26.7 when stretchable polydimethylsiloxane subjected tension or compression. This work sheds light on studies about controllable small-scale mechanical deformations.

Thermal-mechanical deformation modelling of soft tissues for thermal ablation.

Modeling of thermal-induced mechanical behaviors of soft tissues is of great importance for thermal ablation. This paper presents a method by integrating the heating process with thermal-induced mechanical deformations of soft tissues for simulation and analysis of the thermal ablation process. This method combines bio-heat transfer theories, constitutive elastic material law under thermal load...

Effects of mechanical layering on volcano deformation

S U M M A R Y The migration and accumulation of magma beneath volcanoes often causes surface displacements that can be measured by geodetic techniques. Usually, deformation signals are explained using models with uniform mechanical properties. In this paper, we study surface displacements due to magma chamber inflation, using heterogeneous finite element models. We first present a systematic an...

Near-field thermal transistor.

Using a block of three separated solid elements, a thermal source and drain together with a gate made of an insulator-metal transition material exchanging near-field thermal radiation, we introduce a nanoscale analog of a field-effect transistor that is able to control the flow of heat exchanged by evanescent thermal photons between two bodies. By changing the gate temperature around its critic...

Residual stresses in ground components caused by coupled thermal and mechanical plastic deformation

The purpose of this paper is to understand the combined effect of thermal and mechanical plastic deformation on residual stresses in ground components. The interactions between a grinding wheel and a workpiece, including both thermal and mechanical interaction, are simulated by triangular surface loads moving with the table speed of grinding. Cooling is modelled by a uniform convection over the...

Steady Thermal Stresses in a Thin Rotating Disc of Finitesimal Deformation with Mechanical Load

Seth’s transition theory is applied to the problems of thickness variation parameter in a thin rotating disc by finite deformation. Neither the yield criterion nor the associated flow rule is assumed here. The results obtained here are applicable to compressible materials. If the additional condition of incompressibility is imposed, then the expression for stresses corresponds to those arising ...
